Summer Activities 2010

Workshops and tasters for over 16's - Free if not in Employment!! (Transport can be provided if a problem.)

Thanks to funding from ESF (www.esf.gov.uk)and Unltd (www.unltd.org.uk)

July 19th - July 23rd, 9.30-5.30pm

Workshops to include, music, Dj'n, Filming and photography, music production, street dance and graphic illustration and more.

We would appreciate your help in evaluating our courses in graphic illustration and model aircraft flying and making that we will be running for younger children later in the holidays - you can volunteer at these too if you fancy!

=Youth Wednesdays

Started in April 2008. These continue in 2010 with more activities for 8-12 years from 6-7.30pm on Wednesdays.

Wednesdays - 8-12 years, 6 – 7.30pm, £2.50 per session

Youngsters are currently rehearsing for a Rock Band performance at Village Jam on Feb 28th.

Other activities include, drama games, art, wi dance and sport, films, quizzes

A range of planned activities led by Foundation staff, young volunteers and youth leaders. Parental consent required.

12+ years – Youth chill-out café (free)

Wednesdays 8 – 9.30pm Free

Chill out in the Cellar with your friends – bring your favourite music or film.

There are no costs to come to these sessions.

BAND BOOT CAMP

14th 15th 16th April 2009

Thanks to Funding from Find Your Talent we are able to host this BAND BOOT CAMP for only £15 for the three days instead of £100!

Open to all young people- specifically aimed at teenagers.

Opportunities for bands, individual musicians and singers and those interested in the technical/ recording aspect. The Paddocks Recording Studio from Melton Mowbray are hosting the three days with support from local musicians.

Band Nights - Our fourth band night is planned for April 17th 2009. The Waits, Stained Glass Alice, Medusa Cascade, The World in One Day and others from the Band Boot Camp will be performing.If any local bands would like to play at future gigs please get in touch with Deana on 01530 273629, or 07974260453

Band nights are aimed at teenagers and provide a showcase for local young talent and a safe environment for young teenagers to experience a real 'gig' atmosphere.

Soft drinks and refreshments are served in the hall. The Bar area is open for adults and waiting parents! - sales of alcohol are strictly controlled. No drinks are allowed out of the bar area and no drinks are allowed to be brought on to the premises. Youth workers from Ashby Ivanhoe Youth Service and an SIA qualified door supervisor are present.
