The General Baptist Chapel was one of 3 non-conformist chapels in 19th C Appleby.
Now demolished and replaced by housing, it stood on Church Street on the Bowley's Lane side.
During the period when the Sir John Moore School was not being used for village education, this building provided a classroom (along with the original girls' school which is now the Church Hall).
A full history of non-conformists in Appleby, written by Richard Dunmore, can be found on the Appleby History website.
