National Lottery Heritage Fund Grant

Using money raised by National Lottery players, The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK’s heritage. Renovate, Refresh, and Reimagine project - phase 1 is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to commission various reports including a condition report, a drain survey, a Conservation Report, and an business forward plan.

We are currently undertaking a project funded through the National Lottery Heritage Fund to:

  • Help us focus on the future and help develop a strategy to ensure that the building remains, as our founder intended, a school for the benefit of the village and surrounding areas.
  • Look at the future of the building, its use and its preservation.
  • Gauge a better understanding of the historical timeline of the building and whole site and its importance locally and nationally.
  • Have a professional understanding of the condition of the site and recommendations for its care. This will allow us to build our short-, medium- and long-term strategies of what needs to be done to preserve the Grade I listed building and the order of priority.
  • What needs to be done to ensure its continuance as a school.
  • What can be done to minimise the effects of flooding in recent years.
